Brand
The logo, colors, type and image system, with files to download.
Taper's look comes from one picture: a taper candle in a dark room. The candle is a loan, its wax bands are collateral, and the flame is the price.
The mark
A taper candle of five stacked bands, narrowing toward the top, standing in a brass dish, with its flame. It is drawn from the same geometry everywhere: the site, the app icon and every exported file.
- Keep the bands separate. The gaps between them are what make it Taper's candle and not any candle.
- On the site the flame is alive: it leaves the logo to stand at the price, and comes back. Elsewhere the mark carries a drawn flame.
- Give it room: at least the width of the widest band on every side.
The wordmark
"taper" set in Imbue at optical size 100, with each letter lighter than the one before, from weight 900 to 140. The word tapers the way a loan does. At small sizes the range narrows to 820 through 300 so the last letters stay visible.
Use the wordmark as supplied. Do not set "taper" in another weight or font, outline it, or add effects.
Color
The room is dark, and every color in it means something.
The room. Every page and image starts here.
Panels, cards, code.
Hairlines and borders.
Secondary text, axes.
Text, and collateral in a band.
The price, and the one action on a screen.
Dollars in a band, drawn as an engraved hatch.
The dish a candle stands in.
Liquidation, and nothing else.
Flame is never decoration. On a screen it marks the price or the one thing to do next. Sage only ever means dollars. Alarm only ever means liquidation.
Type
Imbue, optical size 100, for display. The wordmark tapers in weight from 900 to 140, letter by letter.
Schibsted Grotesk for everything you read.
Fragment Mono for every number that comes from the chain.
Images
Every Taper image is composed from the interface itself, never generated: candles of real band geometry, the flame, the price axis, and words set in the three typefaces. The rules:
- Start in the room. Soot background with a warm light falling from the flame, and a fine grain over everything.
- Show the mechanism. A candle partly wax, partly sage, says more than any headline. Where numbers appear, they are real launch parameters.
- One flame per image. It is the price; there is only ever one.
- Words are labels. The market, the limit, the page's title. No slogans.
